Science Lab Reflection

What did you enjoy about your visit to the middle school science lab?

I liked that it was a part of the school that most people had not been. I also liked that we did something that was really interesting and that we could do everything ourselves! It was an amazing opportunity! Especially when not many of us have tried a lab coat before and it was very funny because they were mostly big for everyone! Mr Boyd was very kind and funny to us and if we went back there no-one would be thinking negative or not looking forward to it!

Tell me about the experiment you did with Mr Boyd.

We started by sitting down at the tables everyone next to someone they are happy with sitting next to. Mr Boyd explained all the variables that we would be using. Then after he explained everything like how the equipment worked and what we would be doing. He said “ In this science lab the person who you are sitting next to is your lab partner for this activity.” I was sitting next to Jakob. We worked together very nicely and found out what we had to find out which was: which colour absorbs the most heat. When everyone had finished we added up everyone's results for every colour there was. In total we found out that black absorbs the most heat and that white reflects the most heat.

If you could visit the science lab again what would you like to do next time?

I would like to do an experiment with more machinery or liquid or solids instead of paper. But I liked the using the thermometer and the lamp.
