Music with Ms. Kelly

During music with Ms. Kelly We all used our thinking skills to think about what conflict would taste, feel and look like. We all got into a circle and thought of a word describing what we felt about conflict. Then Ms. Kelly would play some chords on the piano and we would say our word out loud. After everyone went we had a second go and as well as saying our word we had to create an action to go with our word. I used my creativity to create an action. As I said my word I put my hands on my hips and pouted for my word was "frustrated". Some of the other kids said sad or guilty or angry and just hung their heads. I thought I could make up something different.

After we went round twice with what conflict looked liked we did the exact same thing with what conflict would taste like if it was a cookie. I announced that it would taste bitter and salty, as well as the cookie dough being hard and rough on my tongue. We didn't create an action because you can't really describe taste through movement. I made a connection with perfume commercials because you see a bunch of weird things happening and then out of nowhere they just smack you in the face with the perfume! I think they make perfume commercials this way because like I said you can't express taste or smell through movement.

Before we started off with conflicts we started learning how to play the ukulele. We learned the A minor, F, C and G chords. Just so we could get the hang of switching between chords we played 'Lions Sleep Tonight' with Ms. Kelly on the piano. I thought this was a great opportunity to use my musician skills and play the best I could. For a little more practise we got into groups and created a quick tune using drums, ukuleles and our voices. I was in a group with Peter, Kaelyn, Chiara and Aksel. Chiara and Aksel played the drums while me, Kaelyn and Peter played a few chords on the ukulele. We created three different parts. Drums, me and Kaelyn and Peter. Our next project was to create a song/dance that would explain conflict. I was out into a group with Reiden, William and GUstav. We had lots of difficulties choosing a song and changing the lyrics. We were very confused because Mrs Kelly ould say something and then Mrs Menon would say something completely different and we would have to change the entire thing we were just working on.
