Task:


Choose a social issue or a cause that you are passionate about. Write a persuasive letter either to a specific person or a group in power who you think can make changes to the current situation or write an open letter to the general public to create awareness about this issue.

Does Everyone Care About Your Health and Safety?

What are your priorities in your life? Most people say health. But what does health mean? In the dictionary this is what you would find: the general condition of the body or mind with reference to soundness and vigor. What does it really mean? For some people healthy eating and sports. For some others not going to the hospital and no medicines. But for lots of people that’s not their condition. Most of the world needs vaccinations, health care, medicines, specialists and hospitals with a good infrastructure.
Without vaccinations more than 3 million people die from diseases that could’ve been cured by vaccines each year. About 1.5 million of these deaths are in children less than 5 years old. In
some countries in development for example in South America, vaccines such as BCG or Bacille Calmette-Guerin is taken on the second day after birth. As well as vaccinations medicines are also very important. The use of some medicines are used to either cure or stabilize cancer. Cancer is one of the most common causes of deaths in the world. In 2012, there were 14 million new cases and 8.2 million cancer-related deaths worldwide. In 2016 around 595 thousand people died because of cancer.




Unfortunately to have a healthy life there is a cost and for a lot of people it is a very high price to pay. It was a great example of a combination between governmental initiative and the public’s needs when the government of the United States of America created a health care system. The health care system was named after the president of America at the time, Barack Obama. The health care was from then on known as ObamaCare. It was an opportunity for the less fortunate people to have access to a decent treatment.


One of the highlights of ObamaCare is that depending on your income and state ObamaCare is free. By being free lots of people based their health life on ObamaCare. Just like any other organisation ObamaCare has its pros and cons. Let’s start with the pros. Children can stay on their parents’ health insurance plans up to the age of 26, it has been proven that by doing so each and every bank account receives more premium from these healthy individuals. Businesses that have more than 50 employees must offer health insurance.
The cons of ObamaCare. 3 - 5 million people lost their employment - based health insurance. “Many businesses found it more ‘cost-effective’ to pay the penalty and let their employees purchase insurance plans on the exchanges.” - ObamaCare Pros and Cons. 30 million people never had company plans and relied on private health insurance. Insurance companies had to cancel policies that weren’t in the minimal requirements.
It is important to have the initiative of other people because if the government takes something away the people will always find a way to solve what they think is wrong by convincing the government.
