Next Steps in Learning
Some of my teachers have said I need to communicate my thinking more thoroughly and in more detail
because I have a tendency of just writing what I think with no detail and sometimes leaving some of my
information out and making it hard for the reader to understand what I mean. Mrs. Hubbard and Mrs.
Warman mentioned I need to expand my range of sources to use in text and I should practice taking out
the information, useful to my text and support my argument. Mrs. Warman and Frau Valissik both
mentioned my reading and how I should develop reading skills and read more often to increase my
vocabulary in both english and german. Mr. Berndt and Mr. York both brought up my knowledge of the
subject, so that I could use those skills when doing a project or an assessment. Such as in Arts, trying
different techniques and brush motions and in science using different information to create brochures,
posters and slideshow. Mr. Morales said I should revise more often to keep the learning we did at the
beginning of the year stuck in my head and not forget it once we start a new unit. Mrs. Carlson told me in
the report card that I should take action and try extension problems whether they are student led or
teacher driven.

So that I can further develop my skills I will take these opinions and ideas and put them into use. I will do
this by reading more often in both english and german to further improve and expand my vocabulary and
challenge my understanding of the language. While I am reading I’ll make a list of the new vocabulary
and put down their meanings and if I get stuck I should ask for help from an adult or teacher. I should
also revise on a regular basis to improve my reading, writing, and pronunciation in the language. When I
write stories or essays or explain my thinking I will try to add more detail within the text and explain my
thinking more clearly and explain what I’m doing and why I’m doing it. I will expand my knowledge and
range of sources by taking information from books and videos and even interviews from the past that
I’ve done. I will try to take extension problems to increase my skills and have different strategies of
solving equations and word problems.

Final Art Rotation Reflection With Mrs Richardson

Final Art Rotation Reflection May 2017 Mrs Richardson Week 1 I learned more things on advertisement today b drawing a pizza box. I learned that you have to make it look really yummy to eat to make people buy it and you should add bright colours to make it stand out. Like at McDonald's where they make it look even better than in real life! I learned that you have to make it as accurate as possible when you’re advertising because people might get disappointed if it’s not all they expected it to be. I liked the challenge with drawing the font because sometimes it was bold , sometimes it was cursive . Sometimes it was underlined , sometimes it was comic font. I really liked drawing the boxes but it was a challenge for me at specific parts of the box! I especially enjoyed colouring it in! Procedural Writing

We did an experiment with different types of toy balls. We would drop all of them from a specific height and see how high the ball would bounce. We then measured the height and moved onto the next ball. Once we dropped all the balls once we would drop them again. We dropped them 3 times. In the end the ball which jumped the highest was a red spiky ball.
