Grade 4 Goal Setting

Describe your strengths and weaknesses in mathematics this semester.

 My strengths in maths are my strategies for subtraction, multiplication, division and addition, my other strength is mental maths. I have a few other strengths but if I put them down I'll run out of room! My weaknesses are my multiplication facts such as my 7s, 8s and 9s.

Describe your strengths and weaknesses in language. (Reading, writing, speaking, listening and presenting).

 My strengths in language is mostly writing stories like I grab a pice from my life that for me was nerve wracking and I exaggerate on it or sometimes I just say what happened. My weakness in language is writing reports. I find writing reports hard because I can't find the right hook sometimes. I also find presenting hard but if I know what I'm saying then I'm much better.

Explain how you have felt about UOI this semester. What have you enjoyed and what have you found challenging a times?

 I have enjoyed Unit Of Inquiry so far this year. I loved the middle school science lab experiment with Mr Boyd. I found challenging when I had to present my animal poster. I can probably get better at presenting. I'm looking forward to trade fair at the end of the year.

What are your main social and educational goals for the remainder of Grade Four?

My goal for maths is to learn my 7 time tables. My goal for language is to be able to have a really good hook. My goal for UOI is to present with a clear, loud voice. My social goal is to try to have at least 3 friends in every class in the whole grade. My goal for trade fair is to be the stall with the most customers.

Final Art Rotation Reflection May 2017 Mrs Richardson Week 1 I learned more things on advertisement today b drawing a pizza box. I learned that you have to make it look really yummy to eat to make people buy it and you should add bright colours to make it stand out. Like at McDonald's where they make it look even better than in real life! I learned that you have to make it as accurate as possible when you’re advertising because people might get disappointed if it’s not all they expected it to be. I liked the challenge with drawing the font because sometimes it was bold , sometimes it was cursive . Sometimes it was underlined , sometimes it was comic font. Procedural Writing

We did an experiment with different types of toy balls. We would drop all of them from a specific height and see how high the ball would bounce. We then measured the height and moved onto the next ball. Once we dropped all the balls once we would drop them again. We dropped them 3 times. In the end the ball which jumped the highest was a red spiky ball.
